I was lucky to pick up the $2799 model at Best Buy on Thursday for $2699 and $70 in rewards (so basically $2800 including MA tax). I run a gym so most of my work is productivity with about 5 hours a week of Final Cut work and 3-4 hours in Logic Pro x. Maybe 1-2 times a year I do a bigger video project working with about 10-hours of video that needs to be chopped up. I am struggling to decide if it is worth the extra $700+ to get a BTO with 32Gb of RAM and the 8GB 5500m.
So far the one I picked up at Best Buy is handling everything I throw at it no problem, and my big need for the upgrade was for the 1TB drive for video and the better keyboard. Also I tend to get a new machine every 18-24 months max. What would you do?
