I am split between the new i5 15 inch (2.4 ghz 320gb hard drive) and the new i5 15 inch (2.53ghz, 500gb hard drive).

Is the extra bump in processing speed really worth an additional $200. Let me have your thoughts.

also, im not worried about the hard drive. 320gb is plenty for me

No 130mhz bump for $200? $1.54 per mhz increase? Knock yourself out, you probably won't see any difference. Plus, both have the same 3MB cache.

and 320gb to 500gb? just replace the hard drive yourself.

Ok thanks, im leaning for the base 15" model.

Yeah that would be your best bet. The MacBook Pros are built so that the user can easily upgrade parts like the hard drive and RAM, so if you do feel the need to make any upgrades in the future, you can diy!
