Has anyone figured out a way to clear out this log? I tried the suggestion of syncing the iPad with iTunes but that didn't help.

Settings --> About --> Diagnostics & Usage --> Diagnostics & Usage Data --> Logs

If you restore your iPad it will reset the list...

I know this because my iPad crashes all the time, mostly springboard and safari, the list grows to several hundred entries...

Once I fully restore my iPad ask new it rested the list...

I figured out why they show up. These aren't really crash reports. They are generated when you select to send Apple diagnostics and usage reports which is enabled by default. If you turn off i.e. "manual" diagnostics and usage reports they eventually get deleted.
