Hi all
My son has an iPhone 7 that won't charge. It is jam-packed with photos so we are willing to do what it takes to repair it :). As I see it, two things could be wrong: The charging port or the battery. Here is its behavior:
- When unplugged, the screen with low battery + charging cable is shown (meaning: connect it).
- When plugged, the charging cable disappears but battery is still shown, alas, without the charging symbol.
The faulty behavior started after it was exposed to a bit of water in a bag, not much.
I have tried connecting it to several plugs, chargers and a Mac.
So:How should I go around fixing it?

Hey there, buddy! Could you please check the lightning port and see if the pins are corroded or broken? Give it a good shine with a torch 🔦 and take a close look.

If they’re rusted or damaged, it’s time to take it to an Apple Store and get it checked out by a Genius.

Bring it to an experienced repair shop.

It's not just two things that could be faulty. Everything from the charging flex to Tigris is suspect.

Follow up bruv. 👊

Had a chance to get a chat with an Apple genius 🧑‍💻 and get a look in that charging port?

Cheers 👋 mate
