My SuperDrive stopped recognizing DVDs. It can still read CDs and it used to read DVDs. Now, it won't even read the Snow Leopard and iWork DVDs.

I've tried a DVD lens cleaner and resetting the PRAM and the SMC but still no joy. And, NO, I didn't plug my SD card in the drive slot.;)

Is there anything else I should try before calling Apple? I don't relish dragging it to the Apple store, sending it for service (it would be difficult to be without a heavy lifter for two weeks) nor replacing it (the screen hardly has the yellow tint and LED bleed and I may not be as lucky with a replacement).

TIA
