so my trash can died again!
I have already spent £700/$900 getting it fixed a couple of years ago.
Symptoms are Led lights on the I/O panel turn on but noting happens when the power button is pressed.
I have removed the lid and used a magnet near the power button to "energise" the system.
here are is a photo of the diagnostic LEDs - i get 5 out of 7 LEDs lit
Can someone with a working 6.1 confirm all 7 green LEDs should be lit BEFORE the power button is pressed.
I used a multimeter and checked the phantom power approx 300mv is flowing on the system
the non lit LED are #8 PCIE Switch status and #4 Platform Reset Release
the only thing i did prior to it not working was install a beta of Big Sur, this worked fine for a few days before it refused to start up
I have a new power supply and i'm going to change the small button battery inside the computer to see if that helps.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated
