Help, Display Turns Off Intermittently

Hi Everyone,

My 12,2 iMac's display has started intermittently turning itself off, then back on again half a second later.

This morning I woke the iMac from sleep and only my 2nd monitor was working until a few seconds later when the iMac's display came on and the desktop icons moved back over.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Ps - When the display is working it works flawlessly, no artifacts or other oddities.

Sounds like it is toggling between target mode/mirrored mode and extended desktop mode.

Is your imac's display shutting off on its own? Could be a lot of issues from a bad power strip to bad ram sticks to bad video card

Isolate the issue, start by figuring out if it is your imac or not. Unplug your external monitor and see if the imac is symptomatic on its own.
