Heya, I'm a bit of a technophobe so don't know much about computers, or more specifically, repairs... wondering if I could please get your thoughts on this.
I have a Macbook Pro, which I *think* I might still be under warranty, gonna check later. A few months ago, I had it repaired as it needed a new screen and a new hard drive.
It was working fine for another month, but then the sound stopped working. You could hear only if headphones or speakers were plugged in, otherwise a red light would shine out through the hole instead.
Since I was really busy writing my thesis, I didn't want to take it in to be repaired until the end of the semester. But unfortunately another problem happened, last night I found that part of the jack of my headphones has snapped off and jammed inside the hole.
I read about trying to get it out by putting glue on the end of the headphones' and trying to pull the broken bit out...? I'm worried I'd make things worse. But equally, I don't know how much it could cost to get BOTH problems fixed, warranty or not. I'm scared they won't know/believe about the original sound problem and instead blame it on the broken off jack and I'll be hit with a big bill.
If anyone has advice, I'd be massively grateful. Thanks!
