Hi all,

I recently bought an iPhone 4 off ebay which appears to be suffering from the rather unnoticed-by-apple "grey wifi of death". Apparently, a lot of users experienced this after iOS 6 updates and I fear this might be the case with my device, as I cant see any form of damage or corrosion on the inside.

This leads me to the question... how would one go about downgrading to iOS 5 after the 6.1.2 update? I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere and so hoped the great people on this forum might be of some help.

Thanks in advance,

TheMankymoo

You generally cannot downgrade.

There is a way to do it, provided you saved the shsh blobs before upgrading but since you purchased the phone and it was presumably at version 6 there's no way now for you to go back to 5

Unfortunately, there is no way for you to do this with your situation.

I would recommend, then, restoring the phone as new. This completely re-installs the OS, and often times fixes issues such as this. It is definitely worth trying and will hopefully resolve your problem.
