Help Downgrading!!!

Okay, so i've seen 10 youtube videos, searched google a bajilion times.
It still won't work.
What's happening is that when i click the link to download it downloads as a zip file, then unzips itself(hehe) and turns into a folder. Now what i've seen is that when the download starts, it looks like a lego piece sort of thing, with the iTunes logo on one side, and an iPod on the other. Can anyone tell me what's going on? I'd really appreciate it, i'd love to geto some third party apps on my iPod touch.

Try a different browser

try changing your settings to not automatically unzip trusted files

And mac or windows?

Imusing Safari.

preferences -> general tab -> uncheck the "open 'safe' files" box

That should do it for ya!

if its a zip file now, then you can just change it to .ipsw

steps to do that.

Not a problem...

Just right click on the file, select 'get info' and look for the name and extension section. Change .zip to .ipsw and when you get the prompt the pops up make sure you select change and not keep .zip

Let me know if you get it done or need more clarification.
