Help! Early 2011 MacBook Pro or Late 2011 MacBook Pro?

I have a question. I am planning to buy a Early 2011 Macbook Pro. It has Apple Care up to 11/2014.

Should I just wait for a late 2011 instead of buying this early 2011 model?

I've been waiting for that for quite a while now at the Apple Online Store. There was once up for sale but it is 1,600+ Tax.

The low end early 2011 15" has a subpar video card compared to the high end early and the low/high late 15" MBP.

I dont know which model you're buying but yes.
If you go for the upper model, it comes with the 6770M GPU instead of 6750M

It has up to November 2014 of AppleCare left. The only upgrade made to it is the seller bump up the memory to 8GB.

I had a Craigslist transaction this morning and I was able to buy a MBP Early 2011 15 inch with Apple Care up to December 2014!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happpppyyyyyyyyyyyy!

I scored it for just 1100.00. 8GB of RAm. It was bought refurbished at Apple last December 2011.

I am now planning to upgrade the HDD!

The previous one that I wasn't able to buy has only up to 11/14 Apple Care but that has 1TB of HDD.

Did I make a good deal? The only gripe that I have is it does not have a box but it has a receipt so I am sure that it is not stolen.

Refurbish unit do NOT come with a box.

Replace it with a SSD and you will be happy.

Oh I see. Thanks for the feedback. I never knew that. Does replacing the optical drive with an HDD will have an effect with the Apple Care? I can search to it later once I get home but maybe you have a quick answer.

Only if you mess it up - you should be able to put the optical drive back in if you need to take it in for repairs.

That price is fair considering the AppleCare.

Yes, it does but you can put the optical drive back if you need any warranty services. Go to ifixt it and follow their guide. It took me 15 mins to do the whole process.
