Help! Fan speeds and temp

Newb here.

I just downloaded iStat and accidentally left the fans on manual setting. Later on I plugged in an external monitor to see how high the temp would go.

The CPU got up to 183F for less then a minute and then I realized it and switched back to system controlled. Thecomputer never shut down or anything or showed an error.

i have a brand new 16 in. MBP.

Please help - did I just ruin my computer?

No it's fine, CPU is rated for 212F. Not close, even then the system will shutdown if it overheats, and they can run for extended periods at max temp.
