Hello everyone, I browse this forum all the time to find answers to my everyday questions. This tim eI can't seem to find a answer to this question. As of late my file cache fills up instantly. I have 32GB of RAM and 27 will be locked up in my file cache. I used memory cleaner to dump the cache and it unable to delta the cache.

I have to use terminal in order to delete the file cache by using the sudo purge command. Just yesterday when I started up my Mac, the file cache was already maxed out. This was a first.

Can anyone help me figure out this problem?

Free RAM is wasted RAM.

Free RAM figures are just a figure and are useless. Ever since RAM compression and caching were introduced in Mavericks, usage values have become completely useless. What really matters is your RAM pressure.

As long as it's green, good.
