In doing a manual backup to my Maxtor NAS tonight using Maxtor's utility app, something within the application filled my Mac Mini internal HD. When I look at it from the root level, Finder is showing that there are 6 items, with 5.95 GB available (75GB drive). Yet when I add the total GB for the 6 items it only comes to 30GB. How do I find the other 40 that are missing? There is no partition BTW.

Thanks, I just tried Whatsize, and am running Inventory X right now, but Whatsize did not reveal anything new that Finder didn't show me. I'm a bit puzzled...

They'll only show you what you have permission to see. For example, if you have another user account the unaccounted data might be in there.

Unless the Maxtor app has the ability to create another user, my 'admin' account is the only user account that I'm aware of.

Well, with InventoryX I did find the 'Backup' folder that was create and I trashed it.

Thanks for the help!
