Help-First time jailbreaking and unlocking my iphone

I've had my iphone4 for about a year and I want to jailbreak it so that I can unlock it to put in a third party SIM card.
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to jailbreaking my iphone let alone unlock it. Can anyone direct me on the easiest way to do so?
I have iOS 5.1.1 , let me know if I need to give any more info.

need to know your Baseband
You can find it under Settings/General/Info Modemfirmware

If you upgraded to stock 5.1.1 you will have BB 4.12.01 unfortenately that BB cannot be unlocked at the moment.
