It started by refusing to add new ones. I've tried verifying disc, repairing permissions, starting in safe mode, clearing the font caches. I reinstalled both font book and the fonts folder from an earlier version in Time Machine (back when it worked)
I can go to the user font folder, click on the font and it pops up 'installed'. After a bit it will even show in fontbook. But then - I close fontbook. Poof. It's back to no user fonts on reopening. All still in the folder. All still verified. But I have to manually click to get them to show up in fontbook. What happened? I haven't added anything new lately.

How can I fix this?
