help for OS X 10.8.3

I am so confused what I have when I click on the apple icon it says 27-inch Mid 2010
softwear OS X 10.8.3 (12D78

when I click on Safari it says it is version 6.0.4

I am very confused on Mountain lion and Snow leopard...

which one does my IMac have....

and how can I update my IMac to 10.8 or higher...

I am no tech and have no one to guide me, can someone tell me what I need to do..

I guess I am over thinking this, my brain is shot... I see I have what I said I needed..
I should pay attention more...
but can you tell me is this mountain lion and if so can it be upgraded to snow leopard now..or do I have it wrong and mountain lion is the newest..

Snow Leopard is a downgrade from Mountain Lion. Here is the hierarchy:

10.4.x Tiger
10.5.x Leopard
10.6.x Snow Leopard
10.7.x Lion
10.8.x Mountain Lion

There is no point in downgrading, your computer has the most up-to-date version of OS X.
