Help for Peter Pan

Hi, we're doing Peter Pan for our Christmas production and we were wondering about doing a video sequence for the flying scenes (from home to Neverland & back). I would just like to have just the people flying, with no background as we want to project the sequence on to the walls and ceiling of the theatre. I thought about a green screen, but I still get a background (none) correct? Any suggestions?
I would like to use iMovie, but have access to FCP at college, either way I'm on unfamiliar ground if I'm using a green screen.

Green screens need to be evenly lit with little to no shadows, otherwise it wont key out correctly. Take you time lighting the screen!!!

Of course, if peter is wearing green then you will have to go with a blue screen!
