help! ! ! ! (Forgot OS X Password)

I forgot my password for my mac because I haven't used it in awhile and I was wondering if theres a way to get the password back or how to perform a system recovery (like windows) on a mac...
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated..

Check out the instructions towards the bottom of this page. ...You'll need the system discs that came with your computer.

Boot from the restore disc that came with your computer and choose the option to reset the password. Here is a document outlining the process.
