hi,
i'm in a quandary. i still have my mac power book OS X 10.4.11. i have tried downloading many of the free video compressor software programs and none will do it due to my older op system.

conversely i have tried downloading them on my mac book air OS 10.6.8 but they are not downloading either.

i thought maybe i could move my video to my macbook air and then work with one of the programs, but i don't know why it won't open.

don't ask why i don't have another mac but i thought between the two of these i could do this. i have a 5 meg video i need o compress since i only have the basic membership in vimeo.

any solutions, guys?:confused::eek:

5 MB is within the limits of Vimeo, unless you meant 5 GB with "5 megs".
You can always try HandBrake. Its current version 0.9.9 runs on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
For older versions look here, as version 0.9.1 is the one working on a PowerPC Mac running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
