Yesterday when I worked on my MBP, I saw my external hard drives. And, this morning, I did a software update and after the update, I don't see any of the hard drives anymore. I didn't see what the updates were; I just accepted them and went away. After the restart they aren't there anymore.

By the way, when I remove the USB cable to the drives, Lion complains. However, none of the applications that access the drives can see them.

I am on Lion, 10.7.2, now.

Things I've done to try to remedy this: Removed the USB from the mac and plugged back in. Restarted mac.

Anybody know what the heck is going on?

Thanks.

I repaired permissions and restarted and all of the drives showed up again.
