Help getting wireless powerbook to connect XBOX

I have searched the net high and low and the few thigns that come up on thi stopic aiin't really working. There has to be a good networking guy out here that can help. I want to use internet sharing on my 17" PB to act as a wireless router for my xbox. I have manually entered numbers all day and night and the furthest along I can get on my xbox is to the DNS check, which fails. I would greatly appreciate some help from any experts out there. I know it can be done, I just, don't know what I am missing. Thanks

Make sure that the firewall is turned off on your Powerbook. This will prevent Internet Sharing from working.

The article fails to mention that you may need set up Port Forwarding in your router to open a tunnel to the internet for your Xbox.

The other method to use if you can't get to grips with Port Forwarding is DMZ which exposes only the Xbox to the internet, and opens up all ports.
Some routers don't support this.

Port Forwarding is the safest method as it only opens up that port, your Xbox is then protected by your routers firewall.

Microsoft have stated that not all routers work with the Xbox, here is a list of some that do work and some that don't work.

These lists are based on preliminary testing and subject to change without notice. I found this list on the Xbox forum.

No firewall on and those instrructions didn't really help. Anyone got any setup experiences etc...? i know i could just buy a router, but I know I can get this goin and I really want to. thanks
 
DLink specify the these routers are compatible with the Xbox.

These Netgear Routers that are compatible with the Xbox.

WGR614 Cable/ DSL Wireless Router 54 Mbps/ 2.4 GHz
WGU624 Double 108 Mbps Wireless Firewall Router
DG632 ADSL Modem Router

WGE101 54 MBPS wireless ethernet bridge is also compatible.

For Xbox Live to work correctly, the following ports need to be open:

•*UDP 88
•*UDP 3074
•*TCP 3074


Configure your firewall to allow these ports to be open when Xbox needs access.

Thats the weird part I have followed that forums instructions to the T and still messed around, but I can't get it working. I wish I could PM one of thsoe guys, but you have to pay to be a member there. I was hoping someone would have some personal experience and be willing to help share the knowledge. The xbox live worked fine when plugged directly into the router, but the problem is bridging the gap from my PB to the router.

Sysmatrix DNS Servers
Primary DNS: 4.2.2.1
Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2

ns2.aracnet DNS Servers
Primary DNS: 216.99.193.19
Secondary DNS: 216.99.193.2

Dslextreme DNS Servers
Primary DNS address will be 66.51.205.100
Secondary DNS address 66.51.206.100 Southern California
Secondary DNS address 66.218.44.5 Northern California

Ideally you should enter your own ISP's DNS servers
