So I have the newest iOS (but this problem existed since day one of purchase) with my iPhone 6+. I use Gmail and when I receive a new email I would get a red circle with a "1" above my Mail APP, but I would have to go into my email and stay there for at least 3-5 secs for me to get that "1" go away. If I quickly go into that email and come right back out, the "1" would go away but then come back...

Any solution to this? Thanks in advance.

This has existed since the original iPhone in 2007. It has been a pain. Once I look at the email or mark it as read/delete I wait for the sync/reload circle next to the Wi-Fi to stop and then exist. (Which takes at least 2 minutes. The only solution I have found is to use LTE data rather then Wi-Fi in mail.
