I really am not too tech-literate, so please don't laugh!

I bought an American 20GB iPod this summer. It is a colour version. I used my best friend's iBook to load up some songs on it for when I was over in the States. I haven't used any other computer with it. I came home to the UK and tried to download my iTunes from my iMac onto my iPod and it won't let me, although other iPods work on my Mac. How can I unlock my iPod so I can download my library at home so it is portable? I download responsibly and haven't been using my iPod to steal lots of other libraries, so I am not sure why this is happening.

Many thanks for any suggestions :)

Assuming you are happy/willing to wipe the iPod and just use music from your own library use the iPod Updater (in Utilities on your Mac, you can download the latest version from Apple) to restore the iPod to factory settings.

thanks very much for the tip. however, i would like if possible to keep the songs and playlists i have on the ipod. i had thought i was allowed to use it with more than one computer. is this not true?

best wishes.
