I tried one of the linux forums and no one has replied to my problem!!
So I would like to play music using my Macintosh speakers. Windows and Linux are both installed on my Macintosh. When I play music in Windows the speakers on my mac work, but when I try to play music in Linux (Ubunntu 10.10) I do not hear anything. I suspect the sound driver might not be compatible, but I am unsure. I know when I was installing the drivers from the bootcamp cd into windows; it took out windows audio driver called "realtek audio" and replaced it with "sigmatel audio" and/or "cirrus audio".
So if you can help me get my speakers to work that would be awesome! thanks!
P.S: Also windows and Linux are not being used in a virtual machine and are installed right on their own hard drive partitions.
Also the microphone does not work with linux either!
