iPod touch HELP!! How do I change iTouch iTunes user ID?

We recently had to change our email address and have updated such on iTunes successfully. Problem comes with syncing iTouch 4G, because it still comes up with old email login ID, therefore not able to add newly purchased songs to the iTouch.
I have searched through my iTouch on how to update it with no luck. Any assistance is GREATLY appreciated (probably something simple )!!

If I'm understanding you correctly which I'm not sure if I am or not, just log out and log in with the new address.

Well, after FINALLY finding an logoff/signoff button, I was able to run through the process of entering the new info about four times. After that, it seems like it has been updated. Time will tell if I am able to transfer the library....
