I used to own a Dell before my recent Mac purchase and when I plugged in my iPhone to sync through iTunes it would bring up a folder for me to browse the photos and videos taken on my iPhone. I could then move them to a folder on my computer if I so wished.

Now, when I connect my iPhone to my Mac I can't find any option to browse the photos taken on there. The device isn't shown in finder (even though I have everything selected in preferences) and although it picks up the device in iTunes there is nowhere to view the photos taken on the device.

Please can someone advise me where I'm going wrong because I would like to save all of those photos to a folder on my Mac?

In addition to the above I am also trying to migrate all my data from my iPhone 4 to my iPhone 5. Everything has worked apart from Notes. I set-up a new @me e-mail address as it requested I do but I still can't get the Notes onto my new device even though I have them both enabled on the phone through iCloud.
Could someone help with that too please? Everything I have found on Google isn't working. I'm not sure if this is due to me migrating everything at the start when Notes was turned off and so now it's not possible.

Many thanks in advance.

Open up iPhoto on your mac when the phone is connected. A new device should popup in there and all your pictures will be in there. You select which ones you like and click "import all" or "import selected". Then you can drag them from your library wherever you'd like. I've never used notes so i can't really help you on that one sorry.

Plug your iPhone into your Mac. Open up Image Capture (just do a spotlight search for it). From there you can select and import all your pics and vids from your iPhone to a folder on your Mac.

This way you don't have mess with iPhoto.

Legend, thank you very much! From that you have also introduced me to spotlight searches!
