Help! How do I rearrange songs in iTunes?

I searched, found a thread that had advice that did not work. When I click and drag a song, nothing happens. Shuffle is turned off. I have created a playlist but it is too orderly. I need to mix it up a lot. I use Windows by the way

In the playlist, click on the column header for the track numbers (the leftmost column, next to the song name header). You should then be able to drag the tracks into whatever order you want.
