Help! How do upload a template to my site?

Here's what I've done:

I opened an account with A Small Orange. I directed my domain name cookingofcourse there.

I used fantastico to upload wordpress

Now, I found a wordpress template that I want to use, so I uploaded it using cyber duck. I can see the file in the file manager, but it is not in the right place, and I cant figure out how to get it into the right place.

I have been working at this for hours. What am I doing wrong?


Any help would be appreciated and I am anxious to get started.

I am trying cyber duck at the moment. .mac is so much easier! ah well, I'll get it eventually.

I figured it out. I think something is missing from my theme because I got the message that the style sheet is missing.

Trying a different theme now.

Sorry if I annoyed anyone by me being the only poster in my own thread

Put the folder that your theme came in into the wp-admin-->themes folder. Then go into your Word Press control panel and install your theme (Presentation-->Themes). Should work right...

That was exactly it. It seems so easy now, yet it caused me hours of frustration.
