Ok so I just bought a new hard drive for my MacBook. I decided to do a fresh install and start from scratch. I however do not have the License Number for my Microsoft Office 2008. I still have the Original Disc with the Part No. on it and everything I just can not find the Install Number.

Is there a way I can find it on my Old Hard Drive in the program is self? I havent deleted it or anything I just took it out and set up the new one incase the new one had some issues I wanted to be able to just pop the old one back in.

From the Word Help:

If your copy of Office 2008 was installed with an invalid product key, or if you mistakenly used the same product key to install Office 2008 on more than one computer, you must remove the invalid product key and enter a valid product key to use Office 2008.

In the Finder, select /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist, and then on the File menu, click Move to Trash.

Select /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 settings.plist, and then on the File menu, click Move to Trash.

On the Apple menu, click Restart.

After your computer restarts, open any Office 2008 application.
The Office Setup Assistant opens.

Accept the software license agreement, and then enter your valid product key.

The product key is located on the back of the Office 2008 for Mac DVD sleeve or on the back of the Install Guide.

So if that removes all references to the CD Key i'm guessing you could just copy them over :)

I've had a look inside the files but don't have my Office CD Key to hand to be able to tell you if you can get the CD Key from the file (it certainly isn't obvious at any rate).
