help! how to hook up external speakers and garage band instruction book?

Hi, Please help me utilize my new mac. I been IBM for 30 years and i can't even make files, cds. layer my garage band tracks or get external speakers to work. Is there a go to book? I have gotten some utube tutorial help but I cant make files, cds and alot of basic stuff.

I assume your computer is new? If so, I would phone Apple...you have 3 months of free phone support...they can walk you through the basics.

Better yet, if you're near an Apple store, you can go in for a tutorial.

thanks my macbook is a year old im the second owner but have 2 years of apple care

I'll check into the apple stroe 5 minutes awy. i also bought a garageband 9.0 , Apple book on amazon.

Any external speaker choices out these. moderate price and size?

Any powered unit will work, best to go see and hear them in store in my opinion.

It's just a headphone jack, no special gimmick there because it's a mac.
