Hello- I'm a chinese teacher for a nonprofit school in california and I was wondering if the following is possible in Lion?

-Input -> pinyin
-Output (on MS Word or similar program) -> chinese character with pinyin above or below

I think this would really help my students learn the language, please help if you know how to do this.

There's an option in Word called "Asian Pronunciation Guide" or similar (I'm not at my Mac right now so I can't get the exact wording). This works for Japanese furigana and I believe that pinyin works the same way.

Edit: After a bit of Googling, I found this thread. The short version: It's Format > Asian Layout > Phonetic Guide. If that option doesn't exist then you need to run the "Language Register" app (in the Additional Tools folder) to enable Asian support.

Wow that was incredibly helpful, thank you.
