Ok, message in a bottle... here goes

I recently purchased the Seagate FreeAgent | Desk External Drive; It's 1.5tb and specifically formatted for :apple:Mac.

Within days this thing is causing problems.

I use it primarily for editing HD video with FireWire 800.

It freezes when loading my video sequence in Final Cut. I'm getting spinning ball all day on this one, and it requires me to restart.

What should I do?

I just want to recover my data and return this very problematic drive.

Thanks for any help you can offer!!!!!

Love,

Nortic Eel

Those 1.5TB drives had firmware problems - I'm not sure you can update the firmware without removing the drive from the case though.
