My Iphone 3gs looses it's contacts every time I sync!! Consequently, I never sync my phone. But, I wanted to install the newest OS update and back up my contact list so I set to task fixing my problems with Outlook.

I installed a new version of Outlook and deleted all existing former contact folders and documents on my PC. Outlook is now working correctly but has zero contacts or calendars. My goal was to get all the info from my phone into Outlook. The contacts and calendars on my phone are the ones I wanted backed up.

I plugged the phone in and attempted to sync each item individually in by selecting the appropriate preference in Itunes. I waited until each task was successful before attempting the contacts. I plugged the phone in and it created a backup.

Unfortunately, it did not work 75% of the contacts were deleted. Only very new entries and some very old ones remain. I am devastated.

I did a search on my computer and found that a backup folder exists. My question is................. how do I retrieve the info and transfer the backup files to both/either my Outlook &/or Iphone???

Help?!:confused::confused::
