I'm using Snow Leopard OS X version: 10.6.7 .

Thanks in advance.

The .plist file will be normally recreated upon a deletion, with the settings been reset.
Have you tried updating to 10.6.8 yet?
Do you have the Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard grey Restore DVD or Upgrade / Retail DVD?
