Hello!

I am new to video processing. I uploaded all of my family videos to iMovie (a nice program, easy to use) and am trying to get them onto a DVD. I tried iDVD but it is too frustrating because I have 8-10 videos I want to add to each DVD, and iDVD themes only allow for 6 videos.

I now have moved onto trying toast. They have pre-made simple menu styles which allow for many more than 6 videos, so I am trying that. However, when I try to burn my DVD I get an error: "CD-ROM XA or Audio tracks cannot be written to DVD."

I have exported my videos from iMovie and see they are in m4v format when toast threw the error. So I tried exporting them using Quicktime and the 'Movie to DV stream' option, creating a DV format and toast again throws the error.

What does this error mean? How can I get my videos onto a DVD?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ANY HELP!

As it seems you want to burn a VCD/SVCD instead of DVD:
http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/kb/Toast/ET6000072&PARAMS=set-locale=en
or search for your error message, and some topics about burning a VCD/SVCD to a DVD appear.

Have you used the following setup:

I knew it would be something simple. I had selected Video CD for some reason, and selecting DVD-video made the error go away and the DVD to burn. Thank you so much!!
