I have a Macbook and receive internet through the cable company. I purchased a Cisco router. I set it up with no problem but now the router is plugged into the computer and I am still not able to have my laptop be portable.

What am I doing wrong?

If you can't connect to the internet via wireless, you did not set your wireless router up with "no problem." What model router is it? What steps did you take? Does the internet work on your Macbook with an ethernet cable plugged in?

Without relevant information, it's quite hard to help you.

I have a Macbook, comcast cable modem and Linksys by Cisco wireless G broadband router.

I'm on the internet now. I'm just not wireless.

The cable modem is plugged into the router.

The router is plugged into the computer.

If I unplug router from computer I lose internet.
