i have a disc with mpeg files on but every time i try to drag them into imovie hd an error comes up saying...NetheravonBlueRnd3.mpg” can’t be imported; QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -2048.

what does this mean and more importantly is there any way i can get these clips into imovie.

Please help this newbie whos recently converted to a macbook pro 2.33.

cheers:eek:

OHHHHH!!!! First make sure you copy the mpg file from the disc to your hard drive. There just may be something weird that iMovie doesn't like importing straight from the disc.

So iMovie pretty much wants .mov, .dv, or .mp4 and that's about it. You'll need to convert the file to one of those formats.

Try MPEGStreamclip (free). It may tell you that you need the apple quicktime mpeg-2 component. It does cost $20.

Another route might be this...Follow these instructions using VLC Media Player to convert, but replace .bin with .mpg.

Best of luck,

Brian
