Can someone help I have been writing in NeoOffice when it decided to go into to auto save, it locked up and won't allow me to close it. Now I can't shut the the computer down because it says I have to quit Neo, I have tried forcing a shutdown of the program but it still won't quit.

If you know the name of the program, you can do killall in Terminal (for example to kill finder you would do "killall Finder" or "sudo killall Finder").

Or you could try "sudo shutdown" in Terminal (make sure to save and quit any applications beforehand).

Final option would be to quit everything possible, wait 2 min and then hold the power button to force a shutdown.
