Hello,
I'm a Mac newbie, and I stupidly Trashed the Dashboard icon. I was trying to delete a Widget.
When I press F12, the Dashboard Widgets, Calc, Weather, and Time Clock come up, but don't stay up.
Do I really need the Dashboard Icon then?
Eitherway, is using the OS X installation disc, and choosing reinstall Applications, the only way to get it back?

Sorry if this has been posted, I did a search, but need more help.

Thanks.

Hi, not sure if this will work or not (I'm not too familiar w/ Dashboard etc.):

Open up a new Finder window>Applications>Dashboard try draggin the icon back into the Dock.

Will it work now?

Thanks for the reply, but, I dragged the Dashboard Icon to the Trash from the Applications folder...and emptied the Trash:(

Someone suggested that, in another post I had submitted.
I tried it, but coudn't get it to work. I will try again.
When I try again, i guess I have to open up the Folder that says Mac OS X, and not Additional Software/Apps.
I think that was the problem I had.

You will probably need to place the dashboard app into your Applications folder and then reboot since I suspect it registers as a service.

Have you tried pressing F12 to activate the dashboard? The dashboard "application" is just calling to services that are buried in the /System and /Library folders.

Thanks for the offer, but before checking back on this forum for more replys, I purchased it!

It worked great. I tried if before, but couldn't get it to work.

Thanks again.
