Hey I had removed an expired demo from my desktop into the trash and tried to empty the trash and a dull line descended across the screen and a message came up that said (in about three languages) that I needed to restart my computer. I tried repairing preferences, deleting it through unix and even OnyX and the only time I didn't get the message is when I booted into os 9 and deleted it from the desktop folder. I am wondering what had happened I don't think it was a kernel panic because there was no information and I tried the apple discussions but couldn't find out anything. Does anyone have any idea what happened?

which app were you deleting?

Have you repaired permissions, run disk repair?

Do you have Diskwarrior?

These are always my first steps...

I was deleting 3d hearts demo. yes I have run both and there were only minor problems and when I tried to delete the file it would do the same thing. I finally got rid of it through os 9 but have no idea what happened
PS no i don't have disk warrior yet. I also read something about Norton causing some conflict with trash so I dumped that too.
