HELP! I need to know where my space has gone!!

Hi, my mac now only has 9.85gb free out of 250gb, and it says that 142gb of the space being used is categorised as 'other',. I think that my space drastically decreased after using migration assistant. Any idea as to how to get my storage back would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently this app isn't compatible with osx lion, looks like the sort of thing i need though, do you know if there are other, similar applications?

Could this be the source of your troubles OP (Lion's local time machine thingamajigger)? I know a lot of people have been complaining about this and I've seen this be the solution many a time. Now if they could just find a solution to the battery woes...
