Help I shut down the macbook while it was updating!

And now when i try to log in, i get the blue screen and it goes back to the login later on. I have tried using terminal command S to delete my profile and get my laptop to login automatically and that did not work.

I tried to go into safe mode and restart the laptop to see if the update would start again but it has not. I had to shut down the laptop because the update was taking longer than an hour! It has not move one inch from the progress bar.

Anyway I would love to know what i have to do in order to get the update to start again, I will surely leave it on for a day if i have to, I just need the update to complete itself, or to even cancel it.

I'm afraid it's unlikely you'll get the upgrade to complete now. Time to do an archive + install (which should preserve your data - albeit you DO have a backup, YES?)
