I was doing a hard drive replacement on a first generation macbook pro. I wasn't thinking straight and accidentally put the long torx screws that are usually under the ram cover plate into the short screw spots that hold the ram cover plate in place. when I turned the computer over, the keyboard was bulging out. I replaced the screws, and pushed the keyboard back into place and didn't think anything of it. i restored the computer from a time machine backup and now i get no response from the keyboard (no lights from capslock, no typing) but the trackpad works fine. did I kill the keyboard? has anyone made this mistake before? any suggestions for fixing it? Thanks for the help!
