Help! When I turned on my MacBook Pro, instead of going to the Apple Logo right away like normal it instead showed a ton of text// (bios information?) on the left side of the screen and it kept on “writing” more like more and more lines of code kept appearing and so it kept scrolling down.. it did this for about 5-10 seconds until the Apple appeared and it booted normally.

Does anyone know what this is called and why it happens?

Which OS version? Were any keys pressed (accidentally or intentionally)?

There's a feature called "Verbose mode", initiated with ⌘V:

There's also a way to enable Verbose mode so it always happens. It uses the nvram command, and I'd have to search for the details.
