So I got the Canoscan LiDE 30 for my ibook running OS X 10.2.2.....the guy at the mac store told me that all i needed was to download a driver from the canon site and that it would work with 10.2. I downloaded both drivers, the toolbox and the scan gear....and it doesnt work. am i missing something here? do i HAVE to have photoshop 7 for it to work?? (for anyone scanner shopping i would recommend an epson over a canon...much easier to work!!) it is ridiculous to think that i have to buy $600 worth of software to get a $99 scanner to work!! Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

You don't need Photoshop to use the scanner, but I'm not sure why the drivers aren't working properly. Of course, check the Canon website. They just released the scan gear. I would expect new drivers shortly.
