I have an iBook G4 and whenever I try to start it up all I get is the dark box that says you need to restart your computer. . . . . . in four different languages. When I insert the restore disc and run disc utilities I get a red message that says "invalid leaf record count (should be 10 instead of 201)". I don't have a clue what this means but when I try to repair it, it ends up saying that it is unrepairable.
So, I attempted a reinstall and it walked me through the process to the point where I am to choose a destination and it just sits there indefinately. I never get a pic of the HD to select.

Any suggestions?????

I need help!!

Thanks!
Barry

Have you tried running the disk utility on the install disk? That should be under the utilities menu once you get far enough in the install process.

No, I haven't. Didn't even think of that but I will give it a try. Do you think it might be bad???
