HELP ilife and iwork 08 not working

i did a software update the other day and then when i restart it, ilife and iwork is not opening . HELP

i did verify and repair disk permission and still no luck

Trash the preference file of these apps and see if that helps." In your home directory is a folder marked Library where you'll find the Preferences folder. Your apps have one (or more) files that help control their behaviour and sometimes these become corrupted. If you remove the file pertinent to your misbehaving apps, restarting the application creates a new property list (.PLIST) file.

If the above suggestion doesn't work, try creating a new user in the "Accounts" System Preference pane. Log into that account, and see if you have the same problem.

trashing the preference list doesnt work. make a new account, same problem iwork and ilife no work.
