So I'm trying to setup an old G4 for my daughter. I bought a bunch of old mac games but it turns out they require Classic in order to run.

Here's where I'm stuck:

I'm running OSX 10.4. I don't have the second CD anymore. A friend of mine gave me a copy of os9 but it won't boot.

I've tried installing OS9 via just running the cd but the install requires os classic to install os classic.

Help!

Hi:

I suggest you search eBay. You should be able to find a copy of classic at a decent price. But, like any other purchase made from eBay -

Buyer be aware. :)

Regards.

Amazon and ebay have os9 for $70. What a joke. I can't believe I have to pay $70 to get a $5 game working.

Isn't there a way I can just copy the files needed from the non-bootable CD I already have?

Thanks.

I know there are place on the internet, like torrent sites where you can download classic

1. Downloaded OS for mac tend not to work.

2. Downloading an OS is illegal, thus not allowed to chatted about on macrumors as per their terms of service.
