Help....iMovie 09: picture in picture

I have a custom PNG image with transparent background in a picture in picture window with iMovie 09. The image (which is just an arrow to highlight a spot in my video) plays fine with 'skimming', but it does not when I play back in 'full screen' or always when I hit the 'space bar' to play.

What gives?? Can anyone offer guidance on this?? I'm lost. Thanks...

iMovie 09: picture in picture help

So, I've continued to experiment with solving my problem, but to no avail. My transparent image will appear in full screen playback in the first instance of my project, but does not in subsequent picture in picture spots that are elsewhere in the project. This is very weird.

There must be a real pro out there that has ideas for this. Thoughts??
